The Université de Montréal Among the Top 100 Global Universities in Physics

The Université de Montréal is considered one of the world's best 100 universities in physical sciences, in the latest Times Higher Education University Rankings. This is the 1st time the UdeM Department of Physics has made the list, now in its 6th edition.

Moreover, this selection of top universities positions the UdeM in 8th place among all French-language universities worldwide, and 4th among Canadian institutions.

"This news reflects well on all our faculty, who work hard to help our students acquire the best possible grounding in physics," says Richard Leonelli, Chair of the Department of Physics.

Over the past year alone, a number of the University's physics students have been honoured with various distinctions, including the Governor General's Gold Academic Medaltwo 2nd-place finishes in the University Prize Exam of the Canadian Association of Physicists, and the Carl Sagan Fellowship from NASA.
