Many awards and scholarships are available at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to help you in your Physics studies.
The great majority of scholarships are listed in one place, but the main ones relating to Physics are described below.
GRADUATE

Guaranteed minimum funding of $15,600 for Master’s students and $18,000 for PhD students!
Department of Physics scholarships
Hubert Reeves scholarship
Description :
The Hubert Reeves scholarship is intended to promote interest in astrophysics research. It is for students wishing to pursue graduate studies in this field, and acknowledges the motivation of the recipient in his or her research.
The scholarship was created by Hubert Reeves, an astrophysicist at the Centre national de recherche scientifique (France) and Adjunct Professor with the Department of Physics at the UdeM.

Selection criteria :
- Be enrolled full-time in the Master's program in the Department of Physics at the Université de Montréal.
- Show outstanding motivation in pursuing studies in astrophysics.
Application :
The application must include:
- a covering letter explaining the candidate's interest and motivation in astrophysics research
- a résumé
- transcripts (undergraduate and Master's levels)

End-of-studies scholarships
Amount :
$1,000 for the submission of the thesis within a period of two years. This scholarship is awarded only if, following the first submission of the thesis, the jury recommends acceptance of the thesis, or requests only minor corrections.

Scholarships for excellence
Description :
Funding of $8,000 will be added to these scholarships. In medical physics, the scholarship is over 2 years, with no increase.
These scholarships cannot be combined with other ''large'' scholarships (greater than $5,000).

Scholarship for accelerated passage from Master's to PhD
Description :
$7,000/year, renewable once, for students who have finished a maximum of 3 semesters at the Master's level before starting their doctoral studies.

Scholarships for excellence
Amount :
$10,000 / year for 3 years plus additional funding of $10,000. In medical physics: $10,000 / year for 3 years with no increase. These scholarships cannot be combined with other ''large'' scholarships (greater than $5,000).

End-of-studies scholarships
Amount :
$2,000 upon submission of the dissertation, completed within 3 years, and acceptance of the dissertation by the jury.

Faculty of Arts and Science scholarships
Alma mater scholarships
Description :
$5,000 scholarships for students with exceptional academic records and who accept an offer of admission to a Université de Montréal Faculty of Arts and Science graduate program.
Students do not need to apply. The departments and schools select candidates to be submitted for approval to the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Scholarships from other organizations
Master's in Medical Physics scholarship
Description :
The Quebec department of health and social services (MSSS) offers a scholarship for a student enrolled in medical physics at the Université de Montréal.
Upon completing the program, the recipient agrees to practise in radio-oncology departments in Quebec hospitals for at least 2 years.
The recipient must be sponsored by a health institution that is responsible for paying the scholarship during the program and to offer the recipient a full-time position upon completion of studies.
The sponsoring health institutions are:

- Centre universitaire de santé de l'Estrie
- Complexe hospitalier de la Sagamie

With the exception of students enrolled in the Master's program in Medical Physics, students who have received a large scholarship, such as those from the NSERC or FQRNT, are eligible for a supplementary amount of $4,000.
