Undergraduate programs

From the infinitely great to the infinitely small.

  • Are you fascinated by astronomy?
  • Are you intrigued by subatomic particles?
  • Are you interested in the physics of life?

Our Physics Programs might just be what you are looking for.

The fundamental science that deals with the properties of matter and whose principles govern natural phenomena, physics underpins all the natural sciences. Cutting-edge technologies owe much to major advances in physics. A rich, lively and dynamic discipline, physics is at the forefront of technological innovation, at the heart of new sectors of both, fundamental and applied research.

The Department of Physics brings together a diverse team of 30 teachers and nearly 60 researchers and technicians, including discoverers of extrasolar planets, maker of nanostructures and polymer-based electronic compounds, researchers of dark matter and Higgs boson, modelers of the quantum world, inventors of solar energy materials and investigators of cell function.

Contribute your talents to exciting projects in renowned teams and benefit from world-class research facilities!

Virtual Visits

In video | Department of Physics – Optic and Quantum Physics (in French) View the equipment in the 3rd-year Physics Laboratory, where experiments in Optics and Quantum Physics are conducted, then watch an experiment to measure the speed of sound.

Take a virtual stroll through the Complexe des Sciences (in French) and discover its living, study and learning spaces. From the library to the classrooms and student cafés, you will learn all about the campus!

Job Outlook

Undergraduate Programs in Physics are primarily designed to train generalists in Physical Sciences. This explains why many bachelor’s graduates pursue their studies at the graduate level.

With their solid, versatile training, our undergraduates are appreciated for their problem-solving skills.
